Kochi: Section Officer Jolly Madhu (56), who was undergoing treatment in a critical condition following occupational harassment at the Kochi office of the Coir Board under the Central Government, has died. Following the mental harassment, Jolly Madhu died while she was on a ventilator in a critical condition after suffering from cerebral hemorrhage due to bleeding in the brain.
The family had alleged that Jolly suffered from cerebral hemorrhage due to occupational harassment and mental stress by people including the Coir Board Chairman. The family had alleged that Jolly was transferred to Andhra Pradesh six months ago without even considering that she was a widow and a cancer survivor. Even the medical documents clarifying her condition were not considered. Even her salary was withheld.
The family alleges that Jolly suffered a cerebral hemorrhage on January 30th due to the stress. Jolly had written letters to the Prime Minister’s Office and the President about the harassment she faced at work. The family also alleged that she was retaliated against for even sending these letters.
