Mohanlal’s much-anticipated film ‘Empuraan’ has created history in Indian cinema, recording an unprecedented ticket sale of nearly 100,000 within just one hour on BookMyShow. According to the film’s makers, over 96,000 tickets have been sold so far, marking the highest pre-sales ever for an Indian movie.
The ticket booking for ‘Empuraan’ began at 9 AM on March 21, and within minutes, tickets were sold out. The heavy demand even caused booking apps to crash temporarily. The first shows of the film are set to begin at 6 AM.
‘Empuraan’ is the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster ‘Lucifer’ and is produced under the banners of Lyca Productions, Aashirvad Cinemas, and Sree Gokulam Movies, with Subaskaran, Antony Perumbavoor, and Gokulam Gopalan as producers. This film is the second part of a planned three-part cinematic series.
