Congress leader Sandeep Warrier has made a Facebook post about the movie ‘Empuraan’, which has become a major topic of discussion in political Kerala. The Sangh Parivar is widely spreading claims that the movie portrays Hindus as villains and promotes an anti-Hindu narrative. They are also calling for a boycott of the film. It is in this context that Sandeep Warrier made his post. He confidently asserts that the movie will be a hit and mockingly points out the reason behind it, targeting the Sangh Parivar.
“Empuraan will surely be a hit. Why am I so sure? The same teams that called for unfollowing my Facebook page are now calling for a boycott of the movie,” Sandeep wrote.
After leaving the BJP and joining the Congress, BJP supporters had launched a widespread “unfollow” campaign against him on social media. As a result, more than 50,000 people unfollowed Sandeep in the following days, reducing his follower count from over 3.5 lakh to 3 lakh. However, with the support of Congress and League activists, his follower count has since increased to 3.62 lakh. It is this context that Sandeep humorously referenced in his post.
