The family of Kannur ADM Naveen Babu has moved the court, requesting the preservation of evidence related to his death.
The plea seeks to preserve phone call records and location details of the District Collector and Prashanth, who had sought permission for the pump. It also calls for securing CCTV footage from the District Collectorate and call recordings from two phone numbers belonging to the Collector.
The family’s lawyer clarified before the Thalassery court that the intention is not to obstruct the investigation but to ensure evidence that could aid the inquiry is preserved. During the hearing, the court raised concerns about whether retrieving call recordings might infringe on privacy, given that the accused are not listed as suspects.
