Famous screenwriter and author Balram Mattannur (age 62) passed away. He is the son of late CH Padmanabhan Nambiar and CM Janakimma. Films like Kaliyattam, Karmayogi, Samavakyam,Pithavinum puthranum parikshudanmavinum , Anya Lokam, which won him several accolades,Suresh Gopi including the film Kaliyattam got National Award for Best Actor.
He has written many books like Muyal Gram, Ravi Bhagavan, Kattiloode, Balan , Jeevita Poonkavanam (Palavaka) Anantham (Experimental Work) Kashi (Novel).
Suresh Gopi released the book Jeorita Poonkavanam in Narathulla Mithila, MV Govindan Master MLA released the novel Kashi, Anyalokam the story collection was released by film director Jayaraj and Kaitapram Damodaran Namboothiri. His wife is KN Soumya. Daughter Gayatri Balram. Siblings Jayaram, Shailaja, Bhargavaram and Latish. Funeral at Pullupi community crematorium at 2 o’clock.
