Kochi: After the release of the Hema Committee report, many allegations and discussions were raised. After this report, serious allegations were made against many actors.
FEFKA has made serious allegations against the Hema committee report which studied the issue of women in the film industry. FEFKA’s General Secretary B. Unnikrishnan raised the allegations in the press conference. B. Unnikrishnan alleges that the report was prepared without listening to those who should be heard by the committee.
FEFKA’s earlier position is that the names mentioned in the Hema Committee report should come out. As a trade union, FEFKA has been criticized in the Hema Committee report. The main criticism is that the Hema Committee did not meet the people it needed to meet. It should be explained why only selected people were seen.
Page 12 of the Hema Committee Report itself says that a questionnaire was prepared and sent to the WBCC members. Why only WCC was chosen? Why were other film organizations left out? It says that the Hema Committee held a group meeting with the WCC. Explain why others are excluded.
All this indicates that there has been a definite “abandonment”. Production executives are the most talked about in this report. But it is not known why the Hema committee did not contact their union leader. FEFKA’s position is that the remarks made by the Hema Committee against the founder member of the WCC are malicious. FEFKA admires WCC’s role in women’s empowerment. The report also raises concerns about nuclear power. That is why it is added that not all men are bad. FEFKA also said that he did not understand the context of adding in the report that “a director and a cinematographer behaved well”. FEFKA’s General Secretary B. Unnikrishnan said.
The Competition Commission Act is anti-people. Not only FEFKA but many others have been fined. So if you get fined for opposing that law, you are proud of it. The technicians and the director will arrive at 6 am and the actors will arrive at 11 am. New call sheet provision should come up. The producers’ organization also agrees on this. Fefka said in the press conference that the situation where the technical workers wait for hours on the set for the lead actor and actress can no longer be allowed.
If there is a power group mentioned in the Hema committee report, their name should come out. Fefka says that those 15 names should come out. But don’t create a smokescreen, it should become indistinct. If there is any problem in the movie, some people come forward saying that the power group is behind it and it should stop.
