Kochi: Film organizations to hold consensus talks before the strike. The organizations will jointly meet the government. The move is to hold a meeting next week itself. Tax reduction will be discussed in the meeting. The Kerala Film Chamber also announced that the notice given to Antony Perumbavoor will be withdrawn. The chamber meeting will be held on March 5.
Meanwhile, the dispute that had been going on between Malayalam film organizations for the past few weeks is coming to an end. This comes after Film Chamber President BR Jacob spoke to producer Antony Perumbavoor. Later, Antony Perumbavoor had withdrawn the Facebook post he had written criticizing producer G Suresh Kumar. Antony Perumbavoor had explained to BR Jacob the circumstances that led to him posting a Facebook post criticizing G Suresh Kumar, who had held a press conference announcing the film strike.
Antony said that he was hurt by the reference to Empuraan’s budget. Antony had also said that his post was made after consulting the Producers Association. The Chamber President had said in March that the Film Chamber had not decided on any strike and that Empuraan was a film that theater owners were waiting for.
