Amit Shah said in Rajya Sabha that Kerala had been warned about floods. Amit Shah also stated that the NDRF team had been sent a week ago. He added that the Center has not failed. He clarifies that the Center has not failed with the premise that this is not the time for political talk.
Meanwhile, Amit Shah called a meeting to discuss the situation in Wayanad. The meeting has been called ahead of the debate in the Lok Sabha. Minister of State for Home Nityananda Rai will also attend the meeting. Amit Shah asked what did Kerala do despite the warning. Amit Shah said in the Rajya Sabha that if proper action had been taken based on the warning, a major disaster could have been avoided.
He added that the Center will be with Kerala in this tragedy and will forget political differences and stand with Kerala. Minister of State for Home Nityananda Rao also said that the Center is providing all possible help from the beginning.
