Meppadi: Relief camps have been opened in different areas of Wayanad. There are more than a thousand people in eight relief camps in Meppadi. Meppadi Govt. The relief camps in Meppadi are Higher Secondary School, Kottanad School, St. Joseph School, St. Joseph School UP, Nellimunda Ambalam Hall, Thrikappatta GHS, Kappamkolli Aroma Inn and Mount Tabor School.
People are being shifted to relief camps. Some have also been shifted to relatives’ homes. Officials are also given the responsibility of running each camp. Currently 74 camps are open. There are also children and pregnant women. Steps are being taken to provide food and medicine. 1726 families have been relocated in the district. 155 people have been confirmed dead in the disaster.
