The government has said that 225 people, including a 14-day-old baby, are missing in the Mundakai disaster that left the entire country in a disaster. The names and ages of the missing persons are included in the report issued by the Revenue Department. 227 people are in the list. The bodies of 2 of them have been identified. Meanwhile, the death toll has reached 176.
Rescue operations are difficult in a devastated area. A large amount of soil has come down in the landslide, and the foot is buried when stepping. They have also started airlifting people using helicopters.
Terrible scenes emerge from the disaster land of Mundakai. There were hundreds of houses, a road, a school, and now there is only dirt and run-off ditches in the area. Food is being delivered by helicopter to the stranded.
Ministers are actively participating in the rescue operation. Minister PA Muhammad Riaz, K. Rajan and others are camping at the spot and leading the rescue operation. Chief Minister and Governor will reach Wayanad today. The authorities have also instructed to speed up the post-mortem process of the recovered bodies and hand them over to their relatives.
