Haripad: Two arrested in case of extorting money by offering job in Bangkok. Kanakakunn police arrested Kalidas (22) and Ananthakrishnan (23). The defendants duped two people from Puthiyavila, Kandallur, and bought Rs 580000. However, instead of working in Bangkok, they were sent to Cambodia. Instead of what he was told, he was given a job at a Chinese online fraud center.
It was a scam that leaked information of people including Indians by chatting through social media and extorting money. When he insisted to go back, he said that he has to pay Rs. 1,39,000 more. He returned home on April 27. The police said that they are middlemen and the accused are yet to be arrested in the case.
