The incident happened this morning. The boy was brought to the hospital to have his sixth finger removed. He was taken to surgery at nine o’clock. When he came out after surgery, he was wearing cotton in his mouth. At first they thought that he may have put cotton in his mouth due to pain. But when he looked at his hand, he saw that the sixth finger was the same. When I asked the nurses about this, the response was that the surgery was done on the tongue.
The relatives protested saying that the surgery was to remove the sixth toe and the child had no problem speaking. Relatives also say that the doctor who arrived at the spot immediately apologized for the mistake. The doctor also explained that there was a lump in the child’s throat and it was removed.
