Madhu Mullassery, the former CPI(M) Area Secretary of Mangalapuram, is set to join the BJP. Discussions with BJP state and district leaders have reportedly concluded with an agreement for his membership. BJP leaders are expected to visit Mullassery Madhu’s residence today at 11 a.m. to formally invite him to the party.
Madhu had previously stepped down from the CPI(M) area conference, alleging issues related to his removal from the Area Secretary post. He stated he would not return to CPI(M) but would continue his public service with another political party. Madhu also disclosed that several parties, including the Muslim League, Congress, BJP, and PV Anwar’s DMK, had approached him and that his final decision would be announced soon.
