nstagram accounts of Pakistani celebrities have been banned in India. The accounts of several prominent figures, including Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, Sajal Aly, and singer Ali Zafar, are among those that have been restricted. The action was taken in response to posts made against India.
Hania Aamir’s account was the first to be made inaccessible in India. This is part of the Indian central government’s strict measures against Pakistan. Film industry organizations in India had earlier declared that they wanted no association with Pakistani celebrities. As part of this move, 16 YouTube channels from Pakistan were also blocked. Additionally, personal YouTube channels belonging to Pakistan’s major news agencies, former cricketer Shoaib Akhtar, and podcaster Shehzad Ghias have been blocked.
The YouTube channels were blocked following strict directives from the Ministry of Home Affairs, based on findings that they were spreading provocative content against India and its security forces.
Pakistani celebrity accounts will no longer be accessible in India. Furthermore, no social media pages originating from Pakistan will be available to Indian users from now on.
