Terror alert, 48 tourist destinations shut down in Jammu and Kashmir

In view of a possible terror threat, access to 48 tourist destinations in Jammu and Kashmir has been suspended. The action follows an alert issued by intelligence agencies. There are a total of 87 tourist spots in the region.

According to the intelligence report, there is a high possibility of further terrorist attacks in retaliation for the demolition of houses belonging to militants involved in the Pahalgam attack.

Following the alert, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has deployed its Special Operations Group, the Anti-Fidayeen Squad, at high-risk tourist destinations including Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Dal Lake.
