Kochi: Tax evasion of crores has been found in the GST audit conducted on celebrity make-up artists. Houses and institutions were searched under the name Operation Guapo from morning. The examination is being conducted in around 35 centers.
It was found that tax evasion was done without registration and by understating the income. Earlier, information was collected about this and on the basis of that, inspections were conducted in places including Kochi.
During the inspection, it was found that the firms were operating without registration. Officials said the inspection also revealed that many people were understating their income. According to the preliminary estimate, the evasion of crores was found.
