Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast isolated heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms in Kerala till April 6. A yellow alert has been issued today (04/04/2025) in seven districts: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, and Thrissur.
A yellow alert has also been declared for tomorrow (05/04/2025) in Idukki, Palakkad, Malappuram, and Wayanad districts. On April 6, Malappuram and Wayanad will remain under yellow alert. The forecast indicates the likelihood of isolated heavy rain. Rainfall between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm in 24 hours is classified as heavy rain.
In addition, an orange alert has been issued for the next three hours in Kollam, Alappuzha, and Kottayam districts, valid only for this short-term period.
