High Court Harshly Criticizes State Government Over Hema Committee Report

What action did the government take? The High Court severely criticized the state government in the Hema-committee-report. The court also commented that the delayed action on the part of the government was shocking.

When asked what the government did, the Advocate General replied that a special investigation team had been appointed. The court asked whether any action was taken based on the revelations in the Hema committee report. The court’s question came after the AG informed that action has been taken based on the allegations raised by the public after the report was submitted.

The High Court then asked why this inaction. Inquiring as to why the government remained silent despite submitting the report so early, the court also asked whether this inaction was justified. However, the AG said that no action was taken because there was an order not to publish the report.

However, the court said that the inaction of the government was surprising. The court also stated that action should have been taken when the DGP received a copy of the report in February 2021.
