Idukki: Idukki Diocese with an explanation after the screening of ‘The Kerala Story’. On behalf of Idukki Diocese, Fr. Jins Karakat responded.
Idukki Diocese screened ‘The Kerala Story’ on the last 4th as part of the festival of faith. The exhibition was conducted for the students from class 10 to plus two of the diocese. One of the topics in the class was love and the children were asked to watch the film and evaluate it, the topic was taken as many children fall in the love trap and awareness was given about it.
Because the theme of the movie is love, it was used for awareness. The explanation is that it was not chosen because it was controversial. There was a big protest against the airing of ‘The Kerala Story’ on Doordarshan the other day. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and many prominent and non-eminent people have protested against the incident.
