Samastha leader Naser Faizi Koodathayi has reacted to actor Mohanlal performing an offering at Sabarimala on behalf of Mammootty, stating that “If the offering was done based on Mammootty’s suggestion, it is wrong.”
Earlier, prominent journalist and political analyst O. Abdulla criticized the act, saying that “If the offering was conducted with Mammootty’s knowledge, he should seek forgiveness (tauba).” Naser Faizi also added that “If the offering was done at Mammootty’s request, it goes against religious beliefs. However, I don’t think Mammootty would suggest performing a ritual.”
Meanwhile, O. Abdulla had previously criticized the Sabarimala offering, asserting that “If it was done with Mammootty’s consent, it is against the faith, and Mammootty should repent.” However, following the controversy, O. Abdulla later withdrew his social media post.
