Parents have been instructed to pick up their children from school after the exams on the 26th and 29th of this month in Kannur and Kozhikode districts. This directive was issued by school authorities and the police to ensure student safety.
The precautionary measures have been taken due to concerns that clashes between students could lead to law and order issues. The government has also instructed increased vigilance in other areas where problems may arise.
In Kannur, there will be a strong presence of police, people’s representatives, and PTA officials in schools. Earlier, the district administration, under the initiative of the district panchayat, held a joint meeting with DLSA (District Legal Services Authority), the police, excise, and education departments to discuss preventive measures.
Students have been advised to avoid celebrations after the exams and return home peacefully. The government has also directed schools to strengthen their Student Protection Groups to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
