Income Tax Department Raids Soubin Shahir’s House for Second Time in 24 Hours

Kochi: Continuing the investigation from yesterday, the Income Tax Department conducted another raid at the residence of actor Soubin Shahir. This is the second raid within 24 hours. The raid took place at the house being used as the office of Parava Films. Yesterday evening, the Income Tax Department also raided the offices of Parava Films, as well as Dream Big Distributors in Pullepadi.

The primary focus of the investigation is on the financial sources of two film production companies, according to the Income Tax Investigation Department. The raid initially revealed a tax evasion of ₹60 crore. Shocking findings were uncovered during the inquiry related to the earnings of the film *Manjummal Boys*. Authorities stated that they would call actor Soubin Shahir for questioning to seek further clarifications.

The film reportedly generated revenue of over ₹148 crore, but ₹44 crore in income tax remained unpaid. The Income Tax Department claims that expenses worth ₹32 crore were falsely reported. The department maintains that these figures are fraudulent. They also pointed out that tax returns were never filed. Meanwhile, Soubin clarified that his assistant, Shaun, handled the financial matters.
