Increasing violence has a connection to cinema, but it’s not the only reason – Suresh Gopi

Union Minister and actor Suresh Gopi said that cinema may also have a role in the increasing violence in the society. But do not say that cinema is the reason for everything. Suresh Gopi also said that children should be raised to be good people. Suresh Gopi was responding to questions about whether cinema has an impact on the increasing violence in the state.

“Children are not just the property of the family. They are also the property of the country. This is something I have been saying for ages. Therefore, no child should go down bad paths. It is the responsibility of everyone, including the Prime Minister of the country, to bring children to perfection. Apart from the father and mother, others should be able to raise children properly. If we look at the political level, there are people controlling each booth. They can also take care of the children’s affairs.”

There are those who say that cinema has a role in this. Don’t say that any of this originated in cinema. The film that is criticized a lot is Idukki Gold. That film was made because of such a situation. We should ask the artists who made the film if there was any intention behind glorifying it. I have also been a part of the violence in the film. None of this is done for pleasure. It is to learn. We should understand, not just watch the film, but also try to understand,’ he clarified.
