Kottayam: The court has rejected the bail application of the accused in the ragging case at the Government Nursing College. The Kottayam District Sessions Court rejected the petition. Earlier, the Ettumanoor court had also rejected the bail application of the accused.
The District Sessions Court then rejected the bail applications of accused Samuel Johnson, N.S. Jeeva, Rijil Jith, Rahul Raj, and N.V. Vivek.
The District Sessions Court had heard the bail plea of the accused. The prosecution argued that the accused should not be granted bail considering the seriousness of the crime. However, the defence requested that the age of the students be considered. The court had also directed the police to submit a detailed report. Following this, the court today rejected the bail plea and ordered.
