Palakkad: Senior Congress leader K Muraleedharan has criticized the LDF’s campaign strategies, claiming they alienated even staunch supporters. Speaking after the UDF’s significant gains in Palakkad, Muraleedharan expressed particular satisfaction over reclaiming the municipality.
However, he acknowledged the setback in Chelakkara, emphasizing that the party is taking the defeat seriously. “More systematic work was done in Chelakkara compared to Palakkad,” he noted, adding that anti-incumbency sentiments failed to translate into votes. “The people have issued a warning,” he remarked about the loss.
Muraleedharan dismissed predictions that Sandeep Warrier’s involvement would hurt the UDF, asserting instead that his presence bolstered the majority. “His participation ensured a solid margin,” he said, underlining the positive impact on the campaign.
