Kadinamkulam Murder Case: Evidence Collection of Accused Johnson Scheduled for Today

Thiruvananthapuram: Aathira, a native of Venjaramoodu, was found dead with stab wounds on her neck on January 21. Johnson, whom she met through Instagram, allegedly stabbed her to death with a knife during an intimate encounter. The evidence collection related to the case will take place today.

The police will take the accused to locations where he was in hiding to gather evidence. However, bringing Johnson to Aathira’s house in Kadinamkulam for further investigation will be conducted later, according to the police. Officials also stated that evidence collection at the shop where the murder weapon was purchased and the railway station where the scooter was abandoned had already been completed.

Johnson allegedly committed the murder when Aathira’s husband, a temple priest, was at the temple and her child was at school. He hid the knife, which was wrapped in a cloth, under the mattress while Aathira was making tea. Later, during an intimate moment, Johnson took out the knife and fatally stabbed her.

The police arrested the accused while he was in hiding in Kurichy. At the time of his arrest, he had consumed poison. According to the police, Johnson had asked Aathira to leave her family and live with him, but she refused. Enraged by her rejection, he murdered her.
