A dispute related to non-giving of side to the private vehicle in which the Mayor was traveling resulted in an altercation in the middle of the road. When the bus stopped at Palayam, the car the mayor was traveling in stopped across the bus. People including the mayor questioned the non-giving of the side. This became a big controversy. The Mayor was accompanied by her husband Sachindev MLA.

Driver Yadu had alleged that Arya Rajendran’s companions had abused him. He argued with Arya without knowing that he was the mayor. They tried to overtake along the left side.
