Kasaragod. A journalist who raised a question about the Citizenship Amendment Act was called a racist.Kasaragod Press Club filed a complaint against UDF candidate Rajmohan Unnithan.
Rajmohan Unnithan insulted the journalist at the Janasabha event organized by Kasargod Press Club. Kasargod District Committee of Kerala Journalist Union protested against Rajmohan Unnithan for calling the journalist a communalist. Kasargod Press Club lodged a complaint with UDF Chairman and DCC President regarding the incident.
The Kerala Press Association strongly protested against the behavior of Unnithan. Calling a journalist a communalist is never acceptable. The letter states that Unnithan refused to do so when asked to withdraw the remark and apologize. The Kerala Journalists’ Union stated that they thought they should publicly protest in this regard, but they are withdrawing because it is election time and you are a candidate.
But the union demanded a change in stand and withdrawal of the reference. It has also been stated in the letter that the protest of the journalists’ union has been conveyed to the Congress leadership.
