Lok Sabha Election 2024 : Polling begins in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: Voting has started in Kerala. Voting is from 7 am to 6 pm. Mock polling started at 5.30 am in the booths. 194 candidates are contesting in 20 constituencies in the state. 2.77 crore voters will cast their votes in 25,231 booths.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the polling in the state was 77.67. 74.06 percent in the 2021 assembly elections. The Election Commission claimed that this time it will reach 80 percent. There are a total of 2,77,49,159 voters this time. 6,49,833 of them are maiden voters. 1,43,33,499 female voters, 1,34,15293 male voters and 367 heterosexual voters are in the voter list this time.

Voting in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections is going on today in 88 constituencies in the country. Apart from Kerala, 12 states and Union Territories will vote today.
