Massive fire breaks out in Patna hotel, six dead and 30 injured

Patna: Six people were killed in a fire in a hotel in Bihar’s Patna. The fire broke out in a hotel near the Patna railway station. It is reported that 30 people have been burnt so far. The accident occurred when a cooking gas cylinder exploded in the hotel.

Following the incident, around eight fire brigade units reached the spot. The fire was brought under control after two hours of efforts. At the same time, the number of people involved in the accident is likely to increase and many vehicles have been destroyed by the strong winds, the fire brigade officials said.

According to the fire rescue officials who reached the spot, preliminary investigation revealed that no safety rules were followed in the hotel. Director General of Patna Fire Rescue Service Sobha Ahokakar told the media that the fire has been brought under control. Senior police officer Rajeev Mishra informed that the accident took place around 11 am and the deceased have not yet been identified.
