Lok Sabha Election; 86 candidates in kerala were rejected after scrutiny

Thiruvananthapuram: The competitive picture in the state is becoming clear in the Lok Sabha elections. After the scrutiny of the nomination papers was completed on Friday, 204 people are in the contest in 20 constituencies of the state. The deadline for withdrawal of nomination papers ends on Monday. With this, the final list of candidates for each constituency will be prepared.

Last day, the submission of nomination papers ended at 3 o’clock in the evening. In Kottayam, the papers of the UDF candidate and others were rejected. The papers of Francis George and Francis E. George were rejected. The action was taken after the electoral officer accepted the UDF arguments related to the papers.

Count of current candidates and rejected papers- Thiruvananthapuram 13(rejected 9), Attingal 7(7), Kollam 12(3), Pathanamthitta 8(2), Mavelikkara 10(4), Alappuzha 11(3), Kottayam 14(3), Idukki 8(4), Ernakulam 10(4), Chalakudy 12(1), Thrissur 10(5), Alathur 5(3), Palakkad 11(5), Ponnani 8(12), Malappuram 10(4), Wayanad 10( 2), Kozhikode 13(2), Vadakara 11(3), Kannur 12(6), Kasaragod 9(4).
