MK Salim against Shashi Tharoor’s statement that actor and MLA Mukesh, accused in the rape case, should not resign. Mukesh’s crime is punishable by up to life imprisonment. MK Salim asks why Shashi Tharoor should make such a statement on such a crime. DCC President should also intervene in this matter. MK Saleem said that KPCC should take this issue seriously and correct the statement.
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor is adamant that MLA and actor Mukesh, who was arrested in the sexual assault case, should not resign. It is reported that Shashi Tharoor asked what will happen to Mukesh’s position when the police say that there is no case after three months if he resigns because of the allegations.
Tharoor had the same stand even when the Congress strongly demanded the resignation of Mukesh who was accused of sexual assault. The police did their job. Tharoor clarified that this is not the policy of the party but a personal opinion.
