Meeting RSS leaders is not a serious matter, a crime or a prohibited thing. The disciplinary matters of an IPM officer are currently decided by the Union Home Department. The Union Home Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are RSS members. Therefore, it is not a big deal that ADGP MR Ajit Kumar met RSS leaders. Moreover, such allegations were raised against ADGP MR Ajit Kumar to polarize the community and to unleash the anger of the Muslim community. But not only did no one take up the allegation for a long time, but P V Anwar’s move to create Muslim anger was also being criticized.
The cabinet meeting approved the recommendation of the screening committee headed by the Chief Secretary. Ajit Kumar will be promoted to the post of DGP when the current police chief S. Darvesh Sahib retires from service on July 1, 2025. Ajit Kumar has been promoted to the post of DGP amid several ongoing investigations, including a vigilance investigation related to illegal wealth acquisition.
Ajit Kumar, who becomes ADGP, will not only be a confidant of the state government and Pinarayi Vijayan, but also an IAS officer who will engage in diplomacy with the central government.
