Thiruvananthapuram: On the basis of the complaints made by people including PV Anwar MLA, Malappuram Police has been heavily cracked down on. Malappuram SP S. Sasidharan will be replaced soon and the order will be issued soon. The government is gearing up for a massive crackdown after sexual allegations against the Malappuram police officers have surfaced.
An order was issued to transfer the SP and DYSP ranks of the district. 8 officers of DYSP rank including Special Branch have been transferred. Tanur DYSP VnV Benny was transferred to Kozhikode Rural Crime Branch.
Meanwhile, Palakkad Special Branch DYSP K V Manikandan has been suspended. The action is for misbehaving with the complainant and the office worker. Pathanamthitta SP Sujith Das was suspended following allegations of gold smuggling and tree cutting that rocked the Kerala Police.
