Marriage is to ensure the safety of the children, I desire nothing else; Divya Sreedhar

After actress Divya Sreedhar and actor Chris Venugopal got married, they faced severe cyber attacks. Now, Divya has come forward with a strong response to the criticism. She stated that she never expected such negative comments, considering there is a nine-year age difference between her and Chris.

“I had hoped to conduct the wedding with just four people knowing about it. I am 40 years old, and he is 49. The locals say I’m 60. Let them say what they want. We have no problem with that. Whether I’m 40 or 50, it doesn’t matter; I’m the one living my life. Who has a problem with it? Why do people say such things? Is it wrong to get married?

Isn’t it the issues in our lives that lead to a second marriage? Is it such a big problem? You can cover a thousand heads with a cloth, but you can’t cover anyone’s nose. That’s how our society is.

While I expected some reactions, I never anticipated this level of negativity. I did not marry for sex. I want my children to be safe; they need a father. I also need someone to call my husband for my identity. I got married for myself and my children. I’m just asking people not to make such terrible comments,” Divya stated.
