Miracle Recovery: 4-Year-Old Boy Recovers from Amoebic Meningoencephalitis, Discharged from Hospital

One more child, who was under treatment in Kozhikode for amoebic encephalitis, has recovered and left the hospital. The four-year-old returned home from the hospital completely healthy. On July 13, the child was brought to Baby Memorial Hospital with high fever and headache.

The child was admitted to a private hospital in Kozhikode on July 13, suffering from high fever and headache. On expert examination, the child showed the initial symptoms of encephalitis. Treatment was started after a spinal auscultation confirmed the diagnosis of amoebic encephalitis.

In Thiruvananthapuram, the number of cases of amoebic encephalitis has increased to seven. Those who have confirmed the disease are undergoing treatment at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. Currently 39 people are being treated with symptoms of amoebic encephalitis.

Health Minister Veena George announced that the reason for the increase in amoebic encephalitis in the state will be investigated. So far 15 people have been affected by amoebic encephalitis in the state. Two of them have recovered. Veena George also said that so far seven people have been infected in Thiruvananthapuram.
