Mockery and insults flood the comments section following Uma Thomas’s accident news

Political opponents have been posting sarcastic and abusive comments following media reports that MLA Uma Thomas has been seriously injured after falling. The comments mock Uma’s political stances by associating them with accidents. There are also many comments that denigrate the MLA. Some are commenting in response to this, saying that it is not enough to just walk around singing ‘We must be human, we must be human’ and that we should at least try to be human in such situations.

Comments like ‘There’s no rush, just get well slowly. It’s nothing special’ ‘You should have rushed, didn’t you, that’s why you fell’, ‘Why was there so much unnecessary delay? Why is there so much rush? Who is in such a hurry?’ ‘Anyway, the government is rushing ahead with Uma Thomas’ treatment’ are among the comments. Most of these comments are written by CPM supporters.

Bineesh Kodiyeri, son of former CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, came to the fore in response to such negative comments by activists. “An accident has happened to Mrs. Uma Thomas, something that could happen to me or you tomorrow. It is not appropriate for people in modern society to discuss her previous comments on such occasions. What the advocates of progressive politics should do is to stand together on such occasions while maintaining differences of opinion. May she recover as soon as possible and be busy in her field of work,” Bineesh’s response was.
