The police have initially concluded that the death of film and serial star Dileep Shankar was not a suicide. The police suspect that Dileep Shankar fell in his room and internal bleeding may have led to his death. Liquor bottles were found in the room. The internal organs have been sent for scientific examination. Statements of hotel staff and others have been recorded.
The police also said that no evidence pointing to suicide was found in the room during the inspection. Further action will be taken after receiving the postmortem report.

The hotel staff opened the room after smelling the stench. This is how the actor was found dead. Dileep Shankar’s house is in Ernakulam. He had come to Thiruvananthapuram for the shooting of the serial. The serial director had said that there was a two-day break in the shooting and that Dileep Shankar did not pick up the phone even though many of them called him.
