Ernakulam: The family of ADM Naveen Babu has moved the High Court demanding a CBI investigation into the death of the deceased and not a Crime Branch investigation. The Division Bench, which heard the appeal again, has adjourned the petition for a verdict. The police have been asked to produce the case diary. The lawyer appearing for the family had requested in the court the other day that if there is no CBI investigation, then at least a Crime Branch investigation should be conducted.
However, his wife Manjusha and others took the stand that they would not back down from their stance of a CBI investigation and that they had not demanded a Crime Branch investigation. Following this, the lawyer who had initially appeared was removed and the case was assigned to Advocate K. Ramkumar. The family told the court that they believe that Naveen Babu was killed and hanged and that they had no hope of getting justice in the state police investigation.
