Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh government has imposed strict restrictions to control the crowd in connection with Magi Purnima, the main bathing day of the Maha Kumbh Mela, tomorrow. As part of the crowd control, traffic restrictions have been imposed in Prayagraj. Vehicles will not be allowed to enter the venue of the fair. Traffic restrictions will be imposed in the entire city of Prayagraj from 5 pm today.
Prayagraj will be declared a vehicle-free zone. Except for essential services, no other vehicles will be allowed in Prayagraj. The decision is based on the arrival of lakhs of devotees. The city has been facing severe traffic congestion in the past few days. An emergency meeting was held under the chairmanship of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to control the traffic.
