A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court demanding a CBI investigation into the death of former Kannur Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Naveen Babu. The plea was submitted by his wife, Manjusha, who expressed a lack of confidence in the ongoing investigation.
According to Manjusha, the current probe has not inspired trust, and she believes a central agency should take over the case. The petition is expected to be considered by the court on Friday.
“The petition does not make any direct accusations against others, but that is precisely why we are demanding an investigation by a central agency. The current probe seems to treat only P.P. Divya as the accused, which is concerning,” said a family member.
The formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has made little difference, the family alleges. “The SIT’s inquiry appears no different from that of the local police. There seems to be no significant change in the direction or quality of the investigation. We will continue the legal battle, firmly standing by our demand for an investigation by a different agency,” Naveen Babu’s brother added.
