Jaspreet Bumrah sets new Indian record with 27 wickets in IPL 2020

Mumbai Indians bowler Jasprit Bumrah regained the Purple Cap after his match-winning spell of 4 for 14 against Delhi Capitals in the first qualifier of the Indian Premier League 2020 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday. He set a new Indian record in the Indian Premier League with his four-wicket haul against Delhi Capitals. Bumrah is also the only bowler this season to take two 4-wicket hauls after his 4 for 20 against the Rajasthan Royals last month. His career-best T20 performance helped Mumbai Indians (200 for 5) crush Delhi Capitals (143 for 8) by 57 runs in Qualifier 1 to reach the IPL 2020 final. He has taken 27 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 13.92 and an economy of 6.71. He is followed in the list by Delhi Capitals’ Kagiso Rabada, who has 25 taken wickets in 15 matches. Bumrah grabbed 4 wickets for 14 runs from his 4 overs to take his tally to 27 scalps this season, which is the most by an Indian bowler in a single edition of the IPL, bettering Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s previous best of 26 wickets in the 2018 edition.
