There will be no action against Thiruvananthapuram District Collector Jeromick George in the treatment controversy. The government’s assessment is that the doctor and the organization made the treatment controversial. The report requested by the Chief Secretary will be forwarded by the Principal Secretary of the Health Department immediately.
The collector was called to the house and treated for the septicemia while the patients were being examined in the busy surgery OP. The rush at the OP may be deferred as compared to the official rush of the Collector. The government also believes that the collector was not at fault in the incident. The position of the IAS Association is that the doctor and the organization have disputed the treatment under the service rules.
The organization also points out that under All India Service Rules 3 (1), 8 (1) and 8 (2), All India Civil Service members and their family members can be treated at their place of residence. The IAS association also alleged that the doctor who advertised the patient’s treatment was guilty. The Collector has also informed the Chief Secretary about this.
It is also estimated that taking action against Jeromik George, who has won the award for the best collector in the state, in the treatment controversy will bring disrespect to the government. Election code of conduct also exists. It is reported that the Principal Secretary of the Health Department will soon submit a report on the matter.
