Kottayam: PC George made anti-Muslim remarks during a channel discussion on January 5. The police registered a case based on a complaint by the Youth League Erattupetta Mandal Committee. Subsequently, the High Court rejected PC George’s bail application. Subsequently, PC George filed another bail application in the Erattupetta Magistrate’s Court. The court will consider this petition on Thursday.
P C George, who was remanded, was admitted to the Cardiology ICU of Kottayam Medical College following an ECG variation. A final decision will be taken on whether to transfer him to jail after his health improves. The Kottayam Sessions Court and later the High Court had rejected P C George’s anticipatory bail application. After the police started moving to arrest him the previous day, P C George had sought two days’ time to appear.
PC George, who had announced that he would appear at the police station yesterday, appeared in court in a dramatic manner. When the court considered the case, the police had submitted a report including the cases previously registered against PC George. Later, after hearing the arguments, the court released George in custody and later remanded him.
