Palakkad Votes Today After Intense Campaigning

After weeks of intense campaigning, Palakkad constituency is casting its votes today. Polling began at 7 AM, with long queues forming early in the day as many voters arrived early to avoid crowds later. The contest features 10 candidates, including those from the UDF, LDF, and NDA.

The constituency has 184 polling booths ready to accommodate its 1,94,706 voters. Palakkad Municipality, Kannadi, Pirayiri, and Mathur panchayats form the Palakkad constituency. Women voters outnumber men this time, with 1,00,290 female voters compared to 94,412 male voters, along with four transgender voters.

This election sees the inclusion of specially designed disability-friendly and green polling booths. Additionally, one polling station and nine model polling booths are managed by women officers, adding a unique feature to this year’s voting process.
