Kozhikode: The accused’s mother and sister have been granted anticipatory bail in the case of beating up a new bride in Pantirangaon. Kozhikode District Sessions Court granted anticipatory bail to both of them. At the same time, the court directed both of them to appear before the investigating officer for questioning in connection with the case.
The court also directed that if their arrest is registered, the station should release them on bail. Rahul’s mother Usha Kumari and sister Karthika were made the second and third accused in the case. The duo sought anticipatory bail following reports of dowry harassment charges.
The investigation team gave notice twice to appear for questioning, but they did not turn up. Meanwhile, the steps are in progress to bring Rahul home from abroad. The court had postponed the anticipatory bail application of the police officer Sarath lal, who helped the accused Rahul, to the 31st of this month. Kozhikode Principal Sessions Court changed the hearing of the case.
