Payaichira Navas Urges Police Chief to File Abetment of Suicide Case Against P.P. Divya

Navas Payaichira has written to the State Police Chief demanding the registration of an FIR and an investigation into District Panchayat President P.P. Divya in connection with the suicide of former Kannur ADM Naveen Babu. Navas alleges in his letter to the District Police Chief that Divya publicly attacked and humiliated Naveen Babu with harsh words, deliberately targeting him.

Navas shared the full content of the letter he sent to the police chief, which is as follows:

Navas requests that an FIR be registered against P.P. Divya and an investigation conducted into the public humiliation that allegedly led to the suicide of former Kannur ADM. Naveen Babu, a native of Pathishery, Malayalappuzha, Pathanamthitta, and a left-leaning officer in a pro-government officers’ association, was found dead at his official residence in Pallikkunnu, Kannur. He was due to take charge as ADM in Pathanamthitta today, October 15, 2024, when he was found hanging in his quarters in Kannur.

At a farewell event held recently, District Panchayat President P.P. Divya had interrupted and publicly attacked Naveen Babu, despite not being invited to the event. Using harsh words, she criticized Naveen Babu, accusing him of not granting an NOC (No Objection Certificate) for a petrol pump, claiming that other ADMs had cooperated with her in the past, but not Naveen Babu. She stated that two days before his transfer, the NOC was issued, and insinuated that the circumstances surrounding this were suspicious and would be revealed after his departure.

Divya allegedly said during her speech, “I have no interest in witnessing him receive a memento,” and left the event immediately after her speech. Navas stated that this behavior, which he witnessed in news coverage this morning, was a deliberate and personal attack on the ADM.

He claimed that Divya’s inappropriate and public humiliation of Naveen Babu led him to commit suicide. Navas noted that the incident has sparked controversy and protests against Divya, with growing demands for accountability. He urged the police to collect full video evidence and witness statements and to take appropriate action, as the matter has become a significant public concern.
