Kottayam: One person has been admitted to Kottayam Medical College Hospital due to suspicion of the Nipah virus. The patient was brought in from a neighboring district yesterday and is currently in a special observation area of the hospital.
Samples have been sent for testing to confirm whether the patient has the disease. Results are expected to be available today. Two weeks ago, two individuals were also admitted to the medical college with suspicions of Nipah and Monkeypox, but expert tests confirmed that they did not have the disease.
