Police team carrying Rs 2000 crore from Kottayam detained in Andhra Pradesh

A police team that left Kottayam with 2000 crores was detained in Andhra. The group was released after 4 hours following the procedures that are part of the election inspection.

The Andhra Police detained the police team that had gone from Kottayam to deliver the expired notes to the place directed by the Reserve Bank. A police team led by Kottayam Narcotics Cell DYSP P.Johnson took the old 500 rupee notes to Hyderabad on the last 30th. There was a total of 2000 crore rupees.

The journey was from the Federal Bank Currency Chest (the center where the notes received from the Reserve Bank are distributed to the branches) at Turutti to the Reserve Bank Center at Hyderabad. The police team was in 2 vehicles. Along with DySP, 2 SIs, 3 senior CPOs and 8 CPOs were in the team. It was only a day trip. Night rest at police headquarters.

Andhra police and revenue team stopped the Kerala gang in Anantapur district yesterday at noon. The Andhra Police team was conducting the inspection as part of the election monitoring. Even the higher officials were called, but they were released by 4 pm. The Kerala Police team says that they were not even allowed to eat.
