Thiruvananthapuram: KSEB to impose sector-wise regulation in case of significant increase in electricity consumption. There is a demand for control in places where excessive consumption is recorded, including during peak hours. KSEB will also request commercial and industrial establishments to self-regulate consumption during peak hours and at night.
KSEB’s demand is to reduce at least 150 MW per day. In the first phase, restrictions will be imposed in North Kerala. Further information regarding the regulation will be communicated through KSEB circular. Yesterday the government had decided not to load shedding. The government had asked the KSEB to suggest alternative ways to contain electricity consumption. The final decision will be taken after the discussion led by the Chief Minister and the power.
